About Us

We Intend to Heal is an organization to support the underserved communities in Western North Carolina. Our team strives to furnish our neighbors with life skills and habits to help them succeed in a region that, to this point, has not supported them.

Everyone deserves a chance to be brilliant, and we want our neighbors to realize that there is more out there for them--they are not limited by their surroundings or status because everyone is capable of thriving. We recognize how crucial it is to use a more holistic approach in community development, so our staff work intently to build meaningful relationships with our neighbors as they develop various academic and life skills, set goals, and complete community service projects.

We are eager to work with and become active in the community in which we grew up. We Intend to Heal is based in McDowell, NC as the Founders are originally from Old Fort, NC, and it is important to encourage the youth to appreciate their own communities while also discovering their full potential beyond. We believe that exposing people to art and nontraditional education is a great way to broaden their horizons, and above all, we hope our work with We Intend to Heal will make a difference in the lives of neighbors who may lack a support system in school, at work, or at home.
